SHILIN SHENNONG TEMPLE MARKS RECORD MASS OFFERING WITH WORLD IAC TAIWAN

Shilin Shennong Temple, a designated municipal heritage site, held its grand Shennong Banquet on December 6, marking the completion of its three-year celebration cycle. Since its launch, the event has received strong support from all sectors of the community.

Remarkably, within just two years and two editions, the banquet reached a historic milestone, with more than 1,000 participants offering dishes simultaneously, making it the largest Shennong Emperor offering ceremony in Taiwan and opening a new chapter in the island’s religious and cultural history. The event’s rapid growth reflects the enduring role of Shennong worship in daily life in Taiwan. Revered for teaching agriculture and reintroducing herbal medicine, Shennong the Emperor symbolizes the foundations of community health and livelihood. Over the past three years, Shilin Shennong Temple has expressed this belief through the Shennong Banquet, encouraging the public to cherish the land, respect food, and support community wellness. It expressed its gratitude for the widespread support and temple participation and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting food-and-farming culture, health education, and community welfare initiatives.
